We asked Professional Golfer Sarah Gee to try something a little different for her golf wardrobe. Here's what she thought...

The stunning Puma Open Neck Sleeveless Top

Super comfortable and a great colour; this top ticks my usual boxes in terms of being a fun, solid colour but adds something extra!

The challenge from GolfGarb was to test the neckline. I’m so used to wearing button up polos so didn't know how the open v-neck design would sit, but I need not have been worried. The top stays in place throughout my swing and I’m confident moving freely without fear of a gaping neck line.

From a practical perspective I’ve worn this top a handful of times now and the soft "Cloudspun" material stays soft after each wash and I haven’t noticed any change to the colour or any wear to the material. After washing I have hung it straight on the line with no need to iron it before my next wear giving me more swing time! During a very busy April at the Rose Series plus competing abroad, it has enabled me to pack it straight back in the suitcase for my next event!

For reference I am 5’ 2” and am wearing this in an XL. This is my go-to size for most shirts and I find the length and fit of this top perfect.

This top gets my seal of approval and I love everything from the bright colour, the super soft material, the fit and the smaller details like the white piping around the collar. It's a small detail but breaks up the block colour and works really well for the overall look.

How to choose and wear open v-neck polo shirts

If you love the idea of a crisp, modern neckline without buttons or a zip, buying from a golf brand is a must. Tested and designed to stay put throughout golf specific movements, stitching and fabric overlaps will hold the neckline in place and provide a smart finish.

Puma Golf's v-neck polo comes in two lovely colours this season, Peach Frost and Dark Myrtle, a deep green, shown above, but there are more options available from brands such as Callaway and Swing Out Sister which you can find here. These form part of our Contrast collection celebrating this year's trend for contrast detail. Check out the full collection here.

If prints are your thing you won't go wrong with the high performance polo from Galvin Green shown below, or the white polo with a pop of colour from Swing Out Sister.
